09.00    Welcome to Sámi allaskuvla/ The Sámi University of Applied Sciences,  Diehtosiida  (Walking distance from the Thon hotel)  

Rector Liv Inger Somby, prorector Samuel Valkeapää, dean John-Marcus Kuhmunen and dean Risten Lansmän  

10.00   Information about the Sámi Parliament, meeting Maren Benedicte Nystad Storslett, Member of the Governing Council at the Sámi Parliament 

10.30   Guiding at Sámi allaskuvla, including a visit to Sámi Archive- GUL

12.00   Sharing knowledge and looking for possible exchange possibilities 

Meeting with some of the professional staff, professors and researchers (names)   

13.00  Lecture and presentation from our guests about land based-community organized and run research programs focusing on language, cultural  revitalization and community leadership. Some of these initiatives include Indigenous created and run PhD programs that Tk'emlups te Secwepemc has launched to address community mental health issues.

  • The history about Sámi allaskuvla and the institutional accreditation aim regarding World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium (WINHEC),  by former rector Jan Henry Keskitalo 
  • The political achievements and working at global level at United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) by former President of the Sámi Parliament, Aili Keskitalo
